“An outdoor quickie enough to improve the mood”

A recent study done by the University of Essex in Environmental Science and Technology, showed that just five minutes exercising in open air can lead to immediate improvement in mood and self-esteem.

The study used information from 10 existing studies, analysing 1,252 people, and it showed that the presence of nature (blue and green environments, even urban green) led to mental health and physical improvements. The activities studied were walking, gardening, cycling, fishing, boating, horse riding and farming.

So, I say, even though we are now hitting autumn and winter time, don’t stay at home or at work all day, get out there and feel good!
